Getting into the "swing" of things…

So last week was my first week with my new work schedule, which is basically working swing shift on weekdays and then day shift on Saturdays.

The best thing about working like that in the afternoons/evenings, is the fact that, by then, I mostly have everything that could possibly be on my mind taken care of. At least early in the week. By the end of the week, Thursday and Friday, I was starting to get behind a bit, so I still started working in the afternoons with stuff on my mind that I really wanted to finish. I think this is something I will just have to tolerate until I can write full time.

However, I kicked ass in the writing department!! With extra time all week (plus WaterGuy was home on vacation, so he took over some of the taxi duties), I finished plotting the paranormal romance I’m working on. I wrote the synopsis and, by last night, had trimmed it up to an acceptable 12 double-spaced pages.

Also, I heard back from my agent on my YA, which she loved…YAY! and made a few minor changes for her and got those back. The proposal will go out soon. Again, YAY! I’m ready for another book contract, I’ll tell you!

So, anyway, I know this wasn’t super entertaining, but I just thought I’d check in. Up for this week is to write the first chapter of the paranormal romance. I’m really excited! It’s different than anything I’ve written before, and so far everyone who’s heard the idea loves it. That always helps in the motivation department.
