I’m open to editing most genres, with the exception of children’s books/picture books. I’ve edited everything from middle grade to adult age groups and both fiction and nonfiction titles.

I don’t accept every editing job that comes my way, for a lot of different reasons. It may be that your book isn’t quite ready for the level of editing requested, so I may offer a different level of editing or suggest more work before hiring a professional editor. It could be that the subject matter of the manuscript is outside my area of expertise or on a topic I just wouldn’t be the best editor for. It’s definitely best if I’m honest with you right up front, letting you know what I can (or can’t) do for you!

At this time, I only book jobs through Reedsy.com. Reedsy offers both author and editor protections, handles all payments, and is available to assist if needed. While I’m happy to provide a quote through my contact form, when the time comes for booking a job, I’ll redirect you to Reedsy to request a formal quote and get our collaboration underway.

I frequently book jobs 3-4+ months in advance, so I urge you to plan ahead if you’re on a publication schedule. My minimum project length is usually about 3-4 weeks, but it depends on project length, services requested, and complexity of the project. When requesting a quote from me, please let me know what dates work best for you, and I’ll let you know if I can accommodate!

Reedsy.com handles all payment collection through Stripe.com. Payments can be split into as many as six payments over up to six months. If you’d like a payment plan, please let me know at the time of quote request! I don’t start projects until at least 50% of the total fee has been received.

Phone and Zoom calls are not included in any of my editing packages. Having our discussions in writing is beneficial to both of us, saving time, providing an outline of our conversation that’s able to be referred to later, and to ensure that we are both “on the same page” (pun intended). There are no exceptions to this policy.
